AirSupply : The collaboration platform for the Aerospace Industry

Early 2000, A group of European Aerospace & Defense industry players (Airbus Group, Safran, Thales, Dassault Aviation …) started an initiative known as BoostAerospace in order to face together the intense competition, an increasingly demanding market that requires more flexibility to attend to customers demands (Airlines : Lufthansa, Iberia, Emirates etc...) and the need to lower the production lead time of Aircrafts.

They started looking into other industries way of working in search for "Best Practice" and more efficient technics to manage their logistic processes.

The automotive industry was at the time already successfully using SupplyOn’s collaborative platform to communicate with their suppliers, therefore BoostAerospace decided to partner with SupplyOn and adapt the tool, configuring it to their specific needs, starting the development of AirSupply.

SATAIR has started in 2024 implementing the Purchase order management, Despatch Advice and Goods Receipt modules of AirSupply.
Later on in 2025 Forecasting and Invoicing will added to the range of modules that SATAIR will manage digitally and centrally with their suppliers through AirSupply.

  • Log in to SupplyOn and select the service AirSupply in the navigation bar. 
  • Make sure you have the required role assigned. 
  • Select any module from your dashboard by clicking on the corresponding card.

Efficient processing of your orders

In Airsupply, the Purchase Order process receives the PO data from the customer ERP and allows customer and supplier to collaborate on PO Schedule Line level.

Collaboration is performed on demand to prevent potential delivery issues for the supplier by using an efficient information flow. AirSupply eases the collaboration between customer and supplier.

In AirSupply a PO Schedule Line goes through multiple status changes during its lifecycle from ‘NEW ORDER PUBLISHED’ to ‘RECEIVED’ or ‘CANCELLED’.

Supplier and customer act only when relevant on their pending collaboration status and share the same view on the complete status list.
As a supplier in AirSupply you can:

  • Acknowledge new purchase order schedule lines by accepting or proposing a new delivery date and quantity.
  • Answer your customer purchase order change request by accepting, rejecting or proposing other delivery values (dates and quantities).
  • Inform your customer of a delay on your delivery by initiating a change request on promised dates and/or quantities.

Electronic notification of your delivery

When creating a Despatch Advice (ASN) in AirSupply, the form will be already partially prefilled with information taken from the selected Purchase Order lines to reduce the manual effort. Further transport-specific data must then be added by the supplier.

You have the possibility to combine several Purchase Order lines into one Despatch Advice (ASN).

A Despatch Advice (ASN) in AirSupply consists of a header, handling units named Expedition Unit (UX) and physical packages named Elementary Unit (UE). One Expedition Unit can contain several Elementary Units.

In addition, there is a tab UX dimensions in which the supplier can specify the handling units. This is not mandatory, but it makes it much easier for the customer if he knows, for example, what type of packaging type with what dimensions and weight he can expect.

As a supplier you have the possibility to print labels based on the entered data of the ASN, which you can use for the physical shipment. Separate labels are created for each defined handling unit (UX) and each contained physical package (UE).

After the creation of the Despatch Advice (ASN), the included Purchase Order lines receive the status "Shipped" or "Partially Shipped" in the AirSupply orders module.

Notification of acceptance of the received goods

As soon as the goods sent by the supplier arrive at the warehouse, they are booked into the customer's ERP system. The information is then also submitted to AirSupply to make it visible to the suppliers as well.

As a supplier, you do not need to take any specific actions in AirSupply. The aim of the goods receipt booking in AirSupply is to provide all parties involved the information whether an order item has already been completely or partially delivered.

In the AirSupply orders module, the corresponding order lines for which the goods receipt was booked get the status "Received" or "Partially Received".

In the AirSupply module "Stock Information", the specific goods receipt bookings can be reviewed in detail.

If there are complaints after the goods receipt, the Received Quantity of a PO line can be reduced again. In the Stock Information module, you can identify this by a negative movement type and the description returned.
