Empties Management System (EMS)
Bosch EMS Introduction
As one of the leading IoT companies, Bosch is digitizing its processes and wants to move forward with networking along the entire supply chain. Together with our suppliers, we want to consistently exploit the potential of digitization to create transparency and enable efficient and standardized processes. This is the only way we can remain future-ready and success-oriented together with our suppliers.
For years, we have relied on our partner SupplyOn for the conversion to digital business processes. SupplyOn connects important industrial companies worldwide by using standardized, electronic solutions and creates added value for all business partners involved.
SupplyOn solutions are used by the Bosch Group worldwide. Please also register your company with SupplyOn in order to handle the Empties Management System (EMS) process with Bosch via SupplyOn in the future.
Empties Management System – EMS with SupplyOn
Since 2014, the SupplyOn EMS Service has been used in many Bosch plants worldwide. EMS is a system for electronic empties management between Bosch and its suppliers. Within the supply chain, the empties stocks are optimized and transparency is created to ensure sufficient availability of empties.
How does this work?
Within the EMS, all goods receipt and goods issue movements of Bosch empties containers are tracked. Bosch has a comprehensive overview of empties stocks in the supply chain via the monthly account balancing process, in which the supplier confirms the previous month's movements. The supplier has the option of entering movement or free complaints in the system, which are then processed by the individual Bosch plants. In addition, the usage fee per Bosch plant-supplier relationship can be determined on the basis of account movement data.
Your Benefits with the EMS Process via SupplyOn
- Slim and aligned communication
- Improved availability of empties due to transparency and optimization of empties stocks
- Easy ordering of empties via packaging kits and order favorites
- Transport time based calculation of shipping date
- Transparent tracking of order status for suppliers
- Conform processes among all plants
- Transparency on goods issue and goods receipt postings

SupplyOn Empties Management System (EMS) enables you to monitor and check the following processes online.
Ordering re-usable empties:
You order empties and can track the order status online at any time.
Monthly account balancing:
A monthly balancing of returnable packaging accounts ensures proper account management and considers necessary complaints.
Complaint management:
The EMS allows you to display every movement of returnable packaging accounts. You gain transparency about your account and can complain about discrepancies before the account balancing period starts.
Annual stocktaking:
At least once a year the physical stocks are recorded to detect differences between system and physical stock. This helps to check the empties cycles and to reconfigure them if necessary.
